Faith

Jesus Christ is at the centre of my life. This page is about him.

In everything I have done and everything I have been given, I’m very mindful that none of it is just me. I have seen the leading of the Holy Spirit and the hand of Jesus Christ on my life, I walk in it daily, and I don’t take it lightly or for granted.

I am not perfect, and I fall short in many ways. But there is one who was and is perfect. His name is Jesus, and I have put my faith in him.

The gospel

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth (Genesis 1:1), and he made us to know him. But we turned away. All of us have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23), and it is not something we can put right by ourselves. We need a saviour.

That saviour is Jesus Christ. He lived the perfect life none of us could live, died on the cross for our sins and rose again on the third day (1 Corinthians 15:3-4), so that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
John 3:16 (KJV)

This is what I believe. He died for me and showed me what love is, so I follow him as best I can, and he gives me the strength to do it. The world is not as it should be, but I know a day is coming when he will make all things new.

The Word

I love the Bible, and I believe in stewarding and growing the gifts God has given us. For me, one of those is sharing his Word.

While I was still in high school I was given the opportunity to preach at my church in Cape Town, and from time to time the space to do it again. Through those years I was taught and discipled, and I’m grateful for it, because I was still growing myself. Years later I was ordained as an evangelist, but titles are not what hold value. It is the serving itself that matters. Whenever I serve, in whatever capacity, it is an outpouring of the love God has shown me and given me.

Christ calls us to be one body, helping and serving one another. I’m grateful to have had a place to do that from early on, in the youth, in Bible studies and alongside others in the church, and to have grown into it over time, learning the Word as I helped others learn it.

Preaching

I love sharing the Word of God, and I’m available to preach and to speak at churches and Christian gatherings, that we may all grow in Christ together.
